Dalian Medical University

Dalian Medical University (DMU) is a key university in China that is under the direct administration of the Liaoning Provincial Government. It was founded in 1947 and is one of the first batches of medical higher education institutions that were approved by the State Council of China. The university now has developed into a comprehensive medical university with distinctive features and a national reputation. The university now has four campuses, covering a total area of 2,335,000 square meters. The main campus, Zhongshan Campus, is located in the development zone of Dalian, a beautiful coastal city. The other three campuses are located in Jinzhou, Panjin, and Yingkou respectively.

 Dalian Medical university has a total of 34,500 full-time students, including 22,700 undergraduates, 8,200 graduates, 2,600 international students, and 800 students for adult education. The university has a staff of 5,500, among whom there are 2,460 full-time teachers, including 1,490 professors and associate professors. There are also 1,040 doctoral supervisors and 1,610 master’s supervisors. The university has four first-level disciplines that were selected for the national “211 Project” and “985 Innovation Platform for Superior Disciplines Project”, namely, clinical medicine, pharmacy, stomatology, and public health and preventive medicine.

In addition, the university has one second-level national key discipline, eight provincial key disciplines, and nine provincial key clinical specialties. Dalian Medical University has established long-term and stable cooperative relationships with many world-renowned universities and research institutions, such as Harvard University, Johns Hopkins University, Duke University, and the University of Tokyo.
